Revised List Shows More Boycott Targets
6.28.2004

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Life Decisions International (LDI) has released a new Boycott List, which identifies corporations that have supported Planned Parenthood. The June 2004 edition is an updated version of the November 2003 Boycott List.

Since November 2003, seven corporations have agreed to stop funding Planned Parenthood, bringing the total number to 105. These names of these seven corporations are not included in the revised edition of The Boycott List.

Ten corporations have been added to the new Boycott List, including computer software makers Adobe Systems and Symantec. “The number of new companies added to The Boycott List should not concern anyone as it is not indicative of a renewed corporate desire to fund Planned Parenthood,” said LDI President Douglas R. Scott, who oversees LDI’s Corporate Funding Project. “This is merely the result of our ongoing investigations of corporate philanthropic activities.”

Other corporations added to The Boycott List include publishing giant The Hearst Corporation; office supply store Office Depot Inc.; the maker of shoes, glasses, purses and much more, Kenneth Cole Productions Inc.; gardening specialist Smith & Hawken Ltd.; and the Hilton Hotels Corporation.

For more information about the Corporate Funding Project, including an outline of the standards employed when placing a corporation on or removing a corporation from The Boycott List, visit The Corporate Funding Project section of LDI's Projects on this website.
